The following policies are in the interests of all owners and their dogs and by booking a training session with Pawsitive Intentions Dog Training, you agree that you have read, understood and fully accept the terms and conditions as detailed below.

Safety

  • Keep your dogs close to you and under control at all times.

  • Dogs are to be kept on a lead, unless instructed otherwise during a training exercise.

  • Do not allow your dog to approach other dogs during the training session without permission. Despite the need for owners to socialise their dogs, a strange dog approaching a sensitive dog can cause them to show aggression or other behaviours detrimental to the training session.

  • All dogs must be wearing a suitable harness or lead during training, flexi leads are not permitted.

  • The dog and any other person that is brought to a training session is the owners sole responsibility.

  • It is the responsibility of attendees to dress appropriately for the weather.

  • Pawsitive Intentions Dog Training cannot accept responsibility of any injury, loss or damage to person or property that occurs whilst attending a training session.

  • In the event that your dog attacks a person or a dog or in the event that he/she is involved in a fight with another dog/person causing any damage or injury, you agree to be responsible for any losses incurred including payment of veterinary fee or any medical treatment required.

  • Children are welcome and encouraged to attend training, but they cannot attend on their own (without adult supervision) if under 18 years.

  • All persons attending Pawsitive Intentions Dog Training, training sessions must comply with all safety instructions issued.

  • Vehicles are left in the car park at client’s own risk. The Pawsitive Paddock accepts no liability for loss or damage caused to any vehicle or its contents in the car park.

Health

  • All dogs should be fully vaccinated before attending a training session unless otherwise recommended by a vet.

  • If your dog becomes ill with kennel cough or any other contagious disease, we ask that you let us know as soon as possible so that we can inform other handlers and that you do not attend class until your dog is fully recovered.

  • Please do not bring your dog to class if they are injured, these are active classes, and the health and safety of your dog is paramount, other arrangements will be made for that week.

  • Please do not bring dogs in season to training sessions as this can be very distracting for other dog’s and they are not always in the best frame of mind to train themselves. These circumstances will be assessed on an individual basis and other arrangements will be made.

  • Please encourage your dogs to relieve themselves before the training session, if they relieve themselves during the session, the owner is responsible for cleaning up after their own dogs, bags and bins are provided in the paddock.

  • You have booked a “positive reinforcement” training session with Pawsitive Intentions Dog Training. This means no force or punishment will ever be used to train your dogs.

  • We have a ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY of harsh, compulsive or forceful handling/training by dog owners. If you are seen to do so you will be asked to leave the premises immediately and no refunds will be issued.

  • The following items are NOT PERMITTED in a training session under any circumstances:

    • prong or pinch collars

    • choke chains, half choke chains and/or check chains of any description

    • electronic training collars of any kind

    • any other devices that cause discomfort, pain or fear to the dog or equipment that the trainer deems unacceptable.
